Master Decorator since 1975
At Lammas Master Decorators we meet the need in the interiors market for highly skilled and experienced decorators, with an ability to complete more complicated projects such as fitting bespoke designed murals and hand printed wallpaper, where there can be no allowance for costly errors. Our operatives are also skilled in all of the traditional decorative effects of the master decorator including: wood graining, marbling and broken colour paint techniques. Many of these techniques are becoming obsolete in England and can only be performed by a handful of highly trained decorators. They elevate an interior design and take it to the next level of creativity.
Our master decorator, Steve Lammas, started decorating when he became an indentured Painting and Decorating (P&D) apprentice in 1975. After 20 years on the tools, he became a P&D lecturer at Hackney Community College training and assessing new decorators for the building industry. During this time he became a qualified teacher, a City & Guilds NVQ accessor and obtained an HNC in Surveying and Project Management. He left the college in 2018 to go ‘back on the tools’ with one of his ex-students to work on projects in central London and Essex. He now works on high-end residential and commercial projects in Kent and East Sussex.
